Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the services ("Services") of HYR Grappling LLC, DBA "HYR Grappling", including our website, classes, membership programs, and communications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

Description of Services

We provide modern no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for children and teens ages 7 to 17. Our Services include class instruction, membership management, class scheduling, summer camps and seasonal programs, SMS/text message communications, and related youth athletic services. We do not offer adult-only programs, gi-only programs, or other martial arts disciplines.

Membership & Registration

Eligibility

Our programs are exclusively for children and teens ages 7 to 17. Registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent to participation, accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf, and assumes responsibility for the minor's compliance with our policies. We do not enroll adult students.

Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

SMS/Text Messaging Terms

Enrollment

Because our students are minors, all SMS communications are sent to the parent or legal guardian who registered the child — not to the student directly. By providing your phone number and opting in, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian (or an adult otherwise authorized to receive messages on behalf of the minor) and consent to receive these messages on the minor's behalf. You must be 18 years or older to enroll in our SMS/text messaging program.

Message Content

Messages may include appointment reminders and confirmations, class schedules and updates, account notifications, promotional offers (you can opt out), and service-related communications.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity and preferences. You may receive multiple messages per week depending on your engagement with our services.

Costs

Standard message and data rates apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details. We are not responsible for carrier charges.

Opt-Out

To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message, contact us by phone or email, or update your account preferences. You may receive a final confirmation message after opting out.

Supported Carriers

Our SMS service is supported by all major U.S. carriers. Availability may vary by location.

Carrier Liability

Carriers (including but not limited to T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is outside of our control.

Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Payment Terms

Fees

Membership fees and class rates are as stated at the time of enrollment. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated or required by law.

Billing

By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the specified fees. Recurring charges will continue until you cancel according to our cancellation policy.

Failed Payments

If payment fails, we may suspend your access to Services until payment is resolved. We reserve the right to charge late fees as specified in your membership agreement.

Summer Camps and Seasonal Programs

Summer camp and seasonal-program registrations are non-refundable. Once a spot is purchased, payment will not be refunded if the camper does not attend, fails to complete required registration paperwork before the program starts, or otherwise forfeits participation. The only exception is a cancellation initiated by HYR Grappling (for example, if a session is canceled or rescheduled by the academy), in which case affected payments are refunded in full.

Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

Martial arts training involves inherent risks of physical injury. By participating in our programs, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume them. You agree to release and hold harmless HYR Grappling, its owners, coaches, and staff from any claims arising from your participation in our programs.

A separate waiver and release form must be signed before participating in any classes.

Code of Conduct

All members and visitors are expected to:

Violation of the code of conduct may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.

Cancellation

Memberships may be canceled at any time with at least 30 days written notice, sent to info@hyrgrappling.com or by mail to the address below. Fees billed during the 30-day notice period are not refundable.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of HYR Grappling and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HYR Grappling shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fairfax County, Virginia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms on our website. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
